The aniwai Manifesto

It proves difficult to write a manifesto without using pre-canned phrases from a bad Hollywood flick, but anyway:

1. Do things — anyway!

Aniwai is not meant to be just a nice networking thingy. It is meant to be an attitude. It's about overcoming prejudices and stereotypes. It's about seeing for ourselves and getting in touch. It's about exchange, respect and sharing. We resolve to do things — aniwai.

2. We are far too young to be disillusioned yet!

We are at the brink of the so-called early midlife crisis that is haunting our generation without mercy, so we decided to take a stand against disillusionment and proclaim: We are too young to be disillusioned yet! We fight for our right to believe that we can still make a difference...

3. Star search, teenage angst and dating service...

...is not what we are. We believe that there are still interesting things to write about apart from those. So if you'd like to become famous: www.myspace.com

4. About respect...

It is very important to us that everyone is treated nicely and with respect. Therefore we'd like to ask all of you to stick with the netiquette and to refrain from insults or offensive behavior. If you fail to do so we will replace your portrait picture with a close-up of the most annoying item or person we can think of instantly, and also we will switch the background color of your profile to pink (which proved to serve quite well for prison inhabitants in texas).

But seriously: We will BAN you! For life!!! (Or at least until you sign up again with a different name).

5. The beauty of imperfection

Aniwai might become a big project. And we are — at least at the moment — just two guys working on it, mostly in our spare time. And also: Nothing is perfect and least are we... So if there are troubles of whichever kind please be indulgent with us, we'll try to keep up with things as good as we can...

6. Google beware! Here we come...

Since during the recent year one internet platform after the other got swallowed by one of the big players we would like to announce a bold statement: We declare it as one official long term goal of Aniwai to take over Google. Alternatively we would settle for Microsoft just to take the Internet Explorer off the market. If you'd like to help us with this admittedly difficult yet honorable task you can donate any amount of money to Aniwai. Ask the administrators for account details.
